Understanding the Bible (Hermeneutics) SUMMARY Have you ever wondered why there are so many different views of Scripture? The reason for that is based on how people interpret God’s Word. This class will introduce the basic principles of Biblical interpretation to help you strengthen your Bible study and your love for God as you understand the meaning and significance of His word. OBJECTIVES Explain the role of the author, text, and reader in the interpretive process. Display competence in determining the meaning of a text. Develop the main idea of a text and develop a sermon/teaching outline. 2. Christian Theology SUMMARY What is Christianity about? Find the answer to this question and more as you learn about doctrines of the faith. This class will equip you with a greater understanding of your faith so that you can think through these topics for yourself and be able answer others when they ask, “What do you believe?” OBJECTIVES A comprehensive study of the major doctrines of the Christian faith from the point of view of those within the Christian church. An examination of the doctrines of revelation, God, creation, providence, humanity, sin, Christ, salvation, Spirit, church, and end times. Relate theological concepts to one's personal spiritual formation. 3. Great Commission Studies SUMMARY One of the top reasons why believers in Jesus do not like to share the gospel is because of fear. That fear can manifest itself in a number of things—rejection, or not knowing what to say, or not saying the right thing. This class will help you build a desire to share your faith in Jesus creatively from a Biblical foundation. OBJECTIVES Relate biblically, theologically and practically to the fulfillment of the Great Commission. Special attention is given to contemporary methods of doing missions and evangelism. Demonstrate knowledge of the definition, theology, and history of missions and evangelism. Learn about the biblical, theological and practical aspects of the Great Commission and how to apply these in your ministry. 4. Old Testament SUMMARY How do you go about studying, teaching or preaching the Old Testament while remaining consistent with God’s will and intended meaning? What should we continue to practice and what should we not continue to practice as New Testament believers? Is the Old Testament even Christian Scripture? These questions and more will be answered in this class as you study along with Dr. Moseley. OBJECTIVES Discuss the significance of the Old Testament in relation to redemptive history, which culminated in Jesus Christ. Recall the contents of the first 10 books of the Old Testament and describe the major issues related to each book. Identify attributes of God in the story of His initial relationships with humanity, and develop a disposition and lifestyle consistent with God’s character and calling. 5. New Testament SUMMARY How should we live as followers of The Way? This course will look at the scope of the New Testament and give you a greater understanding of the flow of the Gospels, Writings, Pauline Epistles, and Revelation. Transcript: This is pen and ink drawing using the picture we had to create in redrawing. There was hatching and cross hatching to create the branches of the tree. With creating highlights on the tree you can show the tops of the branches and how big something is. This picture is of me and my brother. I used a personal picture and used and exacto knife to cut out the face and hair. Then used black paint to create the stencil painting. This is orgimai cube made out of folded paper. The green in the picture shows where the light source is coming from. This is a tooling foil. I used a stylus to either create a rise or crease in the metal foil. The symbols mean family, hope, medical healing and love. This is contour drawing where you only draw the outlines that you see. When you drawing this you have 80%/20% looking scale. This is my scratchboard picture. I used a stylus to create the white lines, and used grading on the last butterfiles wing. This is a shattered drawing. To create this i used the h, hb, b,2b,4b,and 6b pencils to created a light to dark cubes. This is a form of cubism. Pop Art is a type of art that uses tints of color. To draw this picture on a a larger scale you would use a grid. This is an isometric drawing with the theme of "having some place to live". Before you could paint the picture you have to transfer the drawing on to the canvas using carbon paper. Kaleidacycle is a form of origami with 3 side of zentangles. Zentangles are a type of pattern that has either shading or color. This picture of Marilyn Monroe was painted by the form of pop art.
